I traveled to Thailand recently and lived in Cha-Am for ten months. During my stay there I was amazed how much the Thai people love their King and Queen. Celebrations in their honor on their birthdays were everywhere. The strange thing was that no alchol was supposed to be sold or served on these holidays. Everyone drank their drinks from coffee cups so not to get in trouble. The Queen is considered their Mother same as the King is considered their Father. The people of Thailand love and worry about the royal family same as if the belonged to it. What a wonderful culture.

Thank you for this educational post. My twin sister and I were born in Thailand and moved here when we were very young. Our Father was in the military and from the US and our mother is from Thailand. She speaks so highly of the King and Queen. I'm doing research and hoping to learn as much as I can. Thanks again.
